Research Wheel Launches on Product Hunt

August 2026 ยท Frog1230

Research Wheel is now live on Product Hunt.

This is the first time I've officially launched Research Wheel through a product-focused community, and I'm using the launch as an opportunity to put the project in front of people who build, research, and experiment with software.

๐Ÿš€ The Product Hunt Launch

Research Wheel is currently launching on Product Hunt under the tagline:

"Research without constantly switching tabs"

The launch page explains the project, shows how it works, and provides a place for people to give feedback and discuss the idea.

Why I Decided to Launch It

Research Wheel started from a relatively simple problem: researching something on the web often means constantly moving between different tools.

You find an interesting piece of information, open another tab to search for the source, switch to a citation generator, copy something into your notes, and eventually try to remember where everything came from.

Research Wheel is my attempt to put those actions closer to the information you're already looking at.

What Research Wheel Does

Research Wheel is a browser extension built around a radial research interface. Instead of constantly switching tabs, actions can be triggered directly from the page you're researching.

You can highlight information and quickly access tools for searching academic sources, saving quotes, generating citations, translating text, copying sources, and organizing findings in a persistent research workspace.

The project is also designed to be local-first. It is free and open source, with no tracking or analytics.

What I'm Hoping to Learn

The most valuable part of the launch isn't simply getting people to see the project. I want to find out whether the problem Research Wheel is solving is actually a problem other people experience.

In particular, I'm interested in hearing from people who regularly research through their browser.

What part of your research workflow is still annoying? Which tools do you constantly switch between? What would make browser-based research substantially easier?

Those answers are much more useful to me than simply knowing how many people downloaded the extension.

๐Ÿ’ฌ I'd Like Your Feedback

If you use Research Wheel, I'd especially like to hear what feels useful, what feels unnecessary, and what you think is missing.

You can leave feedback directly on the Product Hunt launch.

What's Next?

The Product Hunt launch is only one step in Research Wheel's development.

I'll be continuing to improve the extension based on actual usage and feedback. The goal isn't to add features just for the sake of having more features, but to make the core research workflow faster and less fragmented.

If you're interested in following the project, the GitHub repository is the best place to see its development.
